Without a doubt, I have been spending way too much time recently plotting my next DeLorean repairs for when we get back home. Having things delivered to the house in Florence so that I can jump right into these projects without waiting for parts.This vehicle is now about 27 years old and there are many rubber parts that prudence dictates should be replaced, or I am certain to end up stranded by the side of the road. Things like radiator hoses, which in the case of the D-car are rather spread out over the underside length of the frame.
Being stranded in an older vehicle is not all that bad acording to friends that regularly drive their vintage vehicles (and often are standed). They tell me that other motorists will readily stop and offer assistance because they recognize the toll that the owner of an old car has already paid to keep these things going, not only for their own enjoyment , but for the delight of everyone that has even a tiny bit of nostalga in their bones. I really do not want to find out, so I will try to get caught up on the maintenance that my August, 1981 D deserves.
